No matter what situation you’re in.

We all have the freedom to make choices.

Some of us choose to work.
Some of us choose to stay in school.
Some of us choose to join our family business.
Some of us choose to pursue our passion.

But for almost every one of these choices, we often forget that we are the ones who chose it. We get so caught up with life that we forget about why we made that choice in the first place and instead fantasize about the choices we didn’t make.

Could life have been better if I had started working instead of going to school for my Masters?
Could life have been better if I had chose a company to work for instead of running my family business?
Could life have been better if I had pursued my passion as a _______?

The other day, one of my friends asked what I was up to in Southeast Asia. I told him, “The usual — learning to write better, trying to grow my Youtube, traveling, exploring.”

His reply?

“Nice. Stuff we all wish we could do.”

I didn’t reply back.

We all have the freedom to make choices.
He chose financial stability while I chose to pursue my passions.

The decisions we make are ours to keep. And what we decide for our paths is entirely based on our priorities and the lifestyle that aligns with it.

Remember, it’s not that you don’t have a choice; it’s that you’ve already made it and are unwilling to bear the consequences of that choice.

“No matter how long you’ve traveled in the wrong direction, you always have the choice to turn around.”
