I like helping people. There’s a certain satisfaction to helping people who genuinely try to understand and solve problems on their own. They’re people who actually want to learn instead of taking others for granted.
Every time I go home to California, my friend calls me to hang out. I want to, but I usually excuse myself and say I can’t. She makes a good living and tends to splurge so when we go out to lunch, it usually costs around $25 for each of our meals. For someone who lacks the stable income that comes with a corporate job, lunch isn’t something I can afford to splurge on.
