The struggle I have with a friend who has more

Posted on

Every time I go home to California, my friend calls me to hang out. I want to, but I usually excuse myself and say I can’t. She makes a good living and tends to splurge so when we go out to lunch, it usually costs around $25 for each of our meals. For someone who lacks the stable income that comes with a corporate job, lunch isn’t something I can afford to splurge on.

Being poor is not having too little, it is wanting more.

Honesty is a very expensive gift. Don’t expect it from cheap people.
